North Carolina’s State Parks offer lot of activities for nature enthusiasts and outdoor lovers. Most of the state parks have lakes, waterfalls, trails for trekking, scenic overlooks, picnic shelters, camping facilities, fishing areas, biking trails and so on. You can easily spend a day at most of these parks doing your favorite activities.
We have been to the following Parks in North Carolina. Some of these are privately owned while others are State Parks. Most of the state parks are located within 1-2 hours of drive from major cities like Charlotte, Asheville, Raleigh and so on. Fall is the best time to visit all these parks as the colors put up a remarkable show. Spring and summer seasons are also good enough.
